Brady did not look at his best in Week 1 of the season in his first game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he is becoming more and more comfortable in his new home. It might not be a good idea to write off the GOAT just yet, even at 42 years of age.

Drew Brees

Once considered too short to be an effective QB, Drew Brees has gone on to prove all the doubters wring, continuing to play at an elite level at 41 years of age. There has been chatter in the early going suggesting that his arm strength does not look the same, but Brees has always been a QB that is more about accuracy than unleashing the long bomb. With a great surrounding cast in New Orleans, the Saints remain a legitimate Super Bowl threat with Brees under center.

Ben Roethlisberger

In 2018, Ben Roethlisberger, who was 36 at the time, posted one of the best seasons of his career, throwing for over 5,000 yards for the first time in his career. It all went south last season, though, as Big Ben went down with a season ending injury in Week 2 of the season. Major surgery on the throwing arm, especially for a player in their late 30’s, is often a career ender, but Roethlisberger has looked great this season, leading the Steelers to a 3-0 start. It looks like he still has plenty left in the tank.

Aaron Rodgers

At 36, Rodgers is the youngest of the QB’s in this group, but he is still very much a veteran of this league. There was a lot of talk about his future in Green Bay this offseason after the Packers traded up in the draft to land QB Jordan Love, but that all seems to have been forgotten now after the start that Rodgers has made to this season. After a big win over the Saints on Sunday night in Week 3, the Packers are now 3-0 and Rodgers is putting up some amazing numbers. The Packers are quickly becoming the team to watch in the NFC this season.

You might also consider Phillip Rivers in this group. Unlike the others, he has never won a Super Bowl, but the 38 year old seems to be settling in nicely in his new home with the Indianapolis Colts.
