As we prepare for the final round of preseason games, we can’t help but look ahead to the start of the season. To be honest, I have yet to settle on the team that I think will win the Super Bowl, as I am still in the process of breaking down each division to see how things might play out. With that in mind, the next division on my list is the NFC East, which figures to be strong again this year. Last season, 3 teams came out of the East and into the playoffs, and you have to say that it would not be a huge surprise to see that happen again. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the East, with the teams listed in the order I believe they will finish. I’ve also added the current NFL odds for each team to win the division.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles Odds to Win NFC East Division: -134

The list of teams to lose in the Super Bowl and then miss the playoffs in the following season is growing, but I simply don’t see the Eagles becoming a part of that statistic. This is a team that is loaded from top to bottom, and besides being the overwhelming favorite to win the NFC East, they are also up there in the Super Bowl odds. The main concern here is Jalen Hurts, but I don’t mean in terms of his performance. The Eagles only lost 3 regular season games in 2022, with 2 of those losses coming with Hurts out through injury. If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys Odds to Win NFC East Division: +191

We can talk about the weapons that the Cowboys have on the offensive side of the football, but make no mistake about it, this is a team that has one of the most fearsome defensive units in the league. If the D performs as expected and Dak Prescott can get the offense ticking, the Cowboys have the potential to be a very scary team indeed. I do, though, have concerns about Prescott and have to wonder if it will be the end of his time in Dallas if he cannot take this team on a deep playoff run.

New York Giants

New York Giants Odds to Win NFC East Division: +850

To be fair, the expectations for new head coach Brian Daboll last season were not that great, with the belief being that he would probably struggle in year one. That proved to be untrue, though, as he managed to get QB Daniel Jones on track, which helped the Giant finish the season at 9-8, which meant a spot in the playoffs. Thise expectations are now a good deal higher, and much is likely going to hinge on how well the young guys on this team perform. The Giants are, in my opinion, a legit dark horse.

Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders Odds to Win NFC East Division: +1600

The odds really do tell you all you need to know about this team, as they are well behind the other teams in this division in terms of talent. This is a franchise in transition, with a new ownership group in place, so it will take some time to turn things around here. If I can anything with a high level of confidence about the NFC East, it’s that the Commanders will finish dead last.
