Kansas City offers less than +200 odds making them a big time underlay

The Kansas City Chiefs offer better odds to win the Super Bowl today than they did heading into Week 17. KC was a +150 choice before Sunday’s loss to the Chargers.

Those who love the Chiefs to repeat point to how Kansas City won 15-of-16 games. They also send naysayers in the direction of Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs’ quarterback can take a game over with his arm and his legs.

But Kansas City isn’t a lock. The Chiefs failed to cover in 7 of their final 8 games. Also, history says KC loses this season. No team has won back-to-back Super Bowls since the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005.

Also, Green Bay has surged to the 1-seed in the NFC. The Packers, whose Lombardi trophy odds dropped from +500 to +400 after they beat the Bears in Week 17, send likely NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers to the field.

The 36-year-old Rodgers had the best season of his career. He threw 48 touchdowns, only 5 interceptions, and completed over 70% of his passes. Green Bay’s defense has dominated opponents in the Packers’ last 3 games.

Kansas City should offer odds closer to what the Packers provide. +175 make KC unplayable to win Super Bowl LV.

Buffalo becomes the third choice after the Chiefs and Packers

The Bills end the season as the hottest squad in the league. Buffalo won 8 of their last 9 games. The Bills’ defense has also improved, which is why they’re a +650 third choice behind KC and Green Bay to win on February 7.

Buffalo’s Josh Allen can beat almost any defense. If the Bills’ defense plays as well in the playoffs as head coach Sean McDermott expects, the +650 odds will look like a gift.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting the most play

Although Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offer +900 odds to win the NFL Championship, don’t be surprised if those odds shrink to around +600 by Monday. The Bucs must get past Washington this weekend, no easy task, but if they do, Tampa could become one of the top plays to win the Super Bowl.

Rumor has it, the Bucs are the hot play. More wagers have gone onto Tampa than on any other playoff squad. One of the reasons? Odds. The Buccaneers offer +900. There’s more value betting on Brady and the Buccaneers than there is backing Brees and the Saints, Mahomes and the Chiefs, Allen and the Bills, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, or Rodgers and the Packers.
