Houston Surprising Start at .500

Following consecutive losses to the Ravens and Colts, the Houston Texans have rebounded impressively, averaging 33.5 points per game in victories over the Jaguars and Steelers.

The emergence of rookie quarterback CJ Stroud has been a highlight, as he has amassed over 1,200 passing yards and tossed six touchdowns, all without throwing a single interception so far this season. Stroud’s favorite targets, Nico Collins and Tank Dell, have collectively contributed nearly 700 yards and five touchdowns.

Stroud is setting new records for a rookie quarterback in the Houston Texans’ history, making him a strong contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year, despite not initially being considered in the NFL MVP odds at the start of the season.

While the Texans haven’t generated a high production level from their running game, Dameon Pierce has come through in crucial situations, accumulating 181 yards and a touchdown in four games.
