Must Bet 2022 Games in NFL Week 1
2022 NFL Week 1
- Thursday, Sep. 8 – Monday, Sep. 12
Buffalo Bills pk at Los Angeles Rams pk
The league’s opening game this season is a great matchup. The Rams won the 2022 Super Bowl, but Los Angeles lost a few players, including left tackle Andrew Whitworth and end Von Miller.
Buffalo is loaded. The fact the Bills are a pick on the road tells us how much oddsmakers, fans, and handicappers feel about Josh Allen and his mates. It’s tough to argue against Buffalo grabbing a first week victory.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Buffalo Bills
New Orleans Saints -5 at Atlanta Falcons +5
It’s tempting to take the points. But New Orleans, if disaster doesn’t strike during training camp, should have one of the best defenses in the league.
The Saints should also boast one of the leagues’ top offenses. Jameis Winston can light it up. Winston led the league in passing yards in 2019. He has plenty of weapons this season. The Saints make a statement.
NFL Week 1 Pick: New Orleans Saints -5
New England Patriots +2 ½ at Miami Dolphins -2 ½
The Patriots will be an okay team. It’s difficult seeing them challenging the Miami Dolphins on the road.
The potential is there for the Dolphins to be one of the better teams in the NFL. Miami has a good defense. The offense improved leaps and bounds with the addition of Tyreek Hill. If new coach Mike McDaniel can get everyone to play together, the Dolphins easily cover.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Miami Dolphins -2 ½
Pittsburgh Steelers +6 ½ at Cincinnati Bengals -6 ½
The Bengals are one of the best teams in the NFL. The 2022 AFC Champions improved big time after signing right tackle La’el Collins away from the Dallas Cowboys.
The defense could improve because this is Trey Hendrickson’s second season at end. Cincinnati will make the playoffs. But 6 ½ points to Mike Tomlin and the rival Steelers is too much to give.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers +6 ½
Kansas City Chiefs -3 at Arizona Cardinals +3
It’s difficult not to like the Chiefs in this situation. Arizona must play without DeAndre Hopkins, defensive coordinators may have figured out how to defend against Kyler Murray and the defense isn’t very good.
Patrick Mahomes lost Tyreek Hill as a wide receiver weapon, but there’s plenty of other players Mahomes can target. Almost as important? KC’s defense should be better this season.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -3
Las Vegas Raiders +3 ½ at Los Angeles Chargers -3 ½
In a rivalry game, it makes no sense to go with the team giving up points unless the other team is so much better that laying the points makes sense. Everyone is assuming the Bolts will be better than Vegas.
But Vegas should have the better coach. Also, Derek Carr to Davante Adams will be money.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Las Vegas Raiders +3 ½
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -2 at Dallas Cowboys +2
Also, Tom Brady will play well, but the rest of the offense may not. Tampa lost two starters along the line. Dallas wins straight up.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Dallas Cowboys moneyline
Denver Broncos -4 ½ at Seattle Seahawks +4 ½
The Seahawks won’t be great but they won’t be the worst team in the NFC. Seattle will be an okay team.
The problem in this game is that the Seahawks face a motivated Russell Wilson. Russell will ensure Denver wins this and it shouldn’t be all that close. A touchdown victory for sure.
NFL Week 1 Pick: Denver Broncos -4 ½
