Week 1: Wednesday, March 20th – Sunday, April 7th, 2024

Kansas City Royals over Chicago White Sox

Friday April 5th, 2024 at 7:40 PM
Kauffman Stadium

Bobby Witt is poised for a monster season for the Kansas City Royals. If he and Salvador Perez can both stay healthy and remain hitting, Kansas City will be in a better spot than last season. The Royals get the White Sox, who have been one of the worst teams in the league to start the season. Brady Singer gets the nod for Kansas City. After his brilliant start #1, we look for more in Game 2. The White Sox bats cannot figure him out, and Kansas City wins this game to start the weekend series.

Detroit Tigers over Oakland Athletics

Saturday April 6th, 2024 at 7:20 PM
Comerica Park

This one is not terribly difficult to pick, as the Oakland Athletics are likely going to be the worst team in all of Major League Baseball. For Detroit, https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/flaheja01.shtml gets the nod in this game. He is poised to have a big season for the Tigers. This is an early game, which is even earlier for the folks from the Bay Area. Detroit’s offense gets to Paul Blackburn early, and Flaherty cruises from there. Detroit downs Oakland.

Los Angeles Dodgers over Chicago Cubs

Saturday April 6th, 2024 at 7:20 PM | Fox Sports 1
Wrigley Field

This is a good pitching matchup, as Yoshinosbu Yamamoto goes against Jordan Wicks. Yamamoto was roughed up in his first start, but looked much better in Game 2 against St. Louis. Now he gets the friendly confines of the Chicago Cubs. This is an afternoon game, and we expect the wind to be a factor in this one. Look for both teams to get some runs late, but if you are down for a slug fest, beating the Dodgers is not an easy task. Take Los Angeles to beat Chicago on Saturday.

Cleveland Guardians over Minnesota Twins

Sunday April 7th, 2024 at 2:10 PM | ESPN
Target Field

Bailey Ober was completely pummeled in his first start against Kansas City. We do not expect much better results in Game 2. Triston McKenzie will get the start for Cleveland. This game is about the offense though. Cleveland gets the bats going, and wins this game on Sunday to finish up the series. We like the Guardians to beat the Twins on Sunday!

St. Louis Cardinals over Miami Marlins

Sunday April 7th, 2024 at 2:15 PM | ESPN
Busch Stadium

After 7 straight on the road, the Cardinals get to come home. This is the final game of the series against the Marlins. Miami has gotten off to a tough start. Too many starting pitchers out for the Marlins, and not enough offense. St. Louis gets Kyle Gibson to the mound in this game. He was brilliant Monday in San Diego. Look for another strong start, as the former Orioles pitcher keeps the Miami offense on the struggle bus. The Cardinals finish the weekend on Sunday with a win.

Top 2022 MLB Weekend Matches to Bet On: Mets vs Braves, and 4 Other Great Series

Previous Betting News

There’s not a whole lot left to be determined heading into the final weekend of the 2022 MLB regular season, which is why all eyes will be on the Mets at Braves series. There’s going to be a playoff-like atmosphere in Atlanta for the three-game series as the Braves are a game back from New York for the N.L. East crown.

There is also some wild card seeding to be determined in the A.L. between the Blue Jays, Mariners, and Rays, who are all separated by just two games, while the Brewers and Phillies battle things out in the N.L. for the third and final slot into the postseason. It’s time to look at the best games for the weekend so you can get ready to bet against their MLB Odds.

Must-Bet Major League Baseball Games for the Upcoming Weekend (Sep. 30th – Oct. 2nd)

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves

Atlanta briefly pulled within a tie of the Mets for first place in the division, but a 3-2 loss in Washington on Wednesday dropped back down to a game behind.

Both teams have their rotation lined up nicely for this one, with Friday’s pitching matchup being Jacob deGrom (5-3, 2.93 ERA) against Max Fried (13-7, 2.50) while Max Scherzer (11-4, 2.13 ERA) squares off against Kyle Wright (20-5, 3.18 ERA) on Saturday.

Chris Bassit (15-8, 3.22 ERA) vs Charlie Morton (9-6, 4.29 ERA) rounds out the weekend on ESPN’s Sunday night baseball. The Mets lead the head-to-head season matchup 9-7 and return home to play the Nationals for their final series of the regular season. Atlanta has three games in Miami to put a bow on their 2022 regular season.

Philadelphia Phillies at Washington Nationals

Things are getting interesting in the race for the final wild-card spot in the N.L. The Phillies are trying to be the third team in the East to make the postseason, but they’ve also struggled to a 10-13 September and a current five-game losing streak which has allowed the Brewers to pull within 0.5 GB.

The Phillies must have a big weekend against the Nationals, who they have beat up on this year with a 13-2 head-to-head record. Noah Syndergaard, Kyle Gibson, and Zack Wheeler are up in the rotation for Philadelphia, so the dominance over the Nationals should continue. Kyle Schwarber has hit eight of his N.L. leading 42 H.R.s vs. Washington this season.

Miami Marlins at Milwaukee Brewers

Reigning N.L. Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes (11-8, 3.18 ERA) gets things started for Milwaukee this weekend in a big series at home against the Marlins, but he’s up against Sandy Alcantara (14-8, 2.32), who is the favorite to win the award this season.

Saturday and Sunday’s starters are still TBD for Milwaukee as they try to make up the 0.5 GB deficit on Philadelphia for the final wild-card spot.

Chicago White Sox at San Diego Padres

The White Sox players quit on their team when they were in the midst of a playoff run, losing eight straight games, so how motivated are they going to be during a late-season trip to San Diego? The Padres are all but in the playoffs (96.2%), but they still need a couple more wins to make it official.
