AFC West Start of the Season

Let’s start with the first week of the season. While, in week one, you never really know how teams are going to come out, taking three AFC West teams to win and over the spread seems to be a good choice. The only upset here would be the fourth AFC West team – Las Vegas – going to Denver and winning on the road.

Moving away from Week 1 – a couple of upset options for the season include October 29th when the Kansas City Chiefs go on the road at the Denver Broncos. This is a rivalry game, and now Sean Payton is the head coach in Denver. This is a game to look out for.

Another option, and this is a team that should always be on guard – is the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers go to Foxborough on December 3rd, and this seems like a trip. The Chargers have the Ravens before and the Broncos after. New England will likely be hungry for an upset win. We are putting them on upset watch before the season even starts.

Now, let’s talk about divisional chances in the AFC West. The Kansas City Chiefs are big favorites. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl a season ago, and have a good chunk of their team back. Patrick Mahomes is still with Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid is the head coach. They are the big betting favorite.

Possible upsets would be any other team in the division. The Chargers would be an upset, but the Broncos and Raiders would be major upsets and surprises. The Chargers have a chance, but would need 100% health, and a little luck.

We know one team will head to the postseason out of the AFC West, but can they get multiple teams. The Chargers made it a season ago, along with the Chiefs. With those two teams, their odds to win the entire AFC are up. The Chargers would be a surprise, while the Broncos and Raiders would be big-time upsets. Kansas City is the betting favorite out of the entire AFC.

Finally, the Kansas City Chiefs remain the betting favorite to win the Super Bowl. Like, we said for the AFC title, the Broncos and Raiders are massive underdogs, while the Chargers are not too far off.
