NHL Potential Conference Series | MyBookie NHL Betting Preview of the 2024 Postseason

2024 NHL Season | 107th season of the National Hockey League
NHL Week 26: Monday, April 8th – Saturday, April 18th, 2024

Colorado Avalanche +350 vs. Edmonton Oilers +380

The Avalanche are a year removed from winning the Cup title. Colorado will face a tough test in round one, as they will take on the Jets. In Round two, the Avalanche would have to get by the top seeded Dallas Stars. For the Oilers, they look like they will get Los Angeles in the first round, and then face Vancouver in the second round. This series in the Western Conference Finals would be incredible entertainment with Nathan MacKinnon taking on Connor McDavid.

Colorado Avalanche +350 vs. Vegas Golden Knights +550

The last two Western Conference winners. Colorado won the cup in 2022 and Vegas in 2023. It was a tough season for Vegas, but they were able to grab just enough points to get into the postseason. The Golden Knights are going to have to pull a couple upsets to get there. First things first for the Golden Knights, and that is getting healthy. This team will struggle to win with their roster not fully ready to go. It was a long summer a year ago. This is a fun potential matchup in the Western Conference Finals.

Edmonton Oilers +380 vs. Dallas Stars +425

Not many are talking about the top seeded Dallas Stars. The Stars are going to finish with the most points in the West. The Stars are balanced on both sides of the puck. The offense is a great force, and the defense just does not allow easy goals. This would be a great matchup, as we know the history with Edmonton and their high powered offense. Since the first month or so of the season, some could argue Edmonton has been the best team in the league. Despite being the top seed, the Stars are +425 to win the West.

Carolina Hurricanes +300 vs. Florida Panthers +450

The two #2 seed in both the Atlantic and Metro Divisions with a chance to meet up here. There was not a ton of separation at the top of the Eastern Conference. Many would argue these two teams are more well rounded than their divisional leaders. The Hurricanes are tough, and we all know Florida is a team ready to pounce in the postseason. The Hurricanes are the better favorites to win the East, and will start with a first round meeting against the Islanders.

Carolina Hurricanes +300 vs. Boston Bruins +500

Remaining the favorites to win the Eastern Conference, the other option for the finals is the Boston Bruins. The Bruins are going to hold on to the top spot in the East by the hair on their chins over Florida. Boston has been known to come up short in the postseason. They will start with a wildcard matchup, which will be against Tampa Bay. That is not an easy first round matchup. The Bruins are +500 to win the East.

New York Rangers +400 vs. Boston Bruins +500

The major markets would love this matchup. New York against Boston. WHat an East Coast battle this would be. These are actually the top two teams via points in the Eastern Conference. Both get a wildcard matchup in the first round, then would have a battle in the second round with the team just behind them in the division. The Rangers in the Garden would be fun hosting big rivals as late May arrived.

NHL Playoffs Betting Games Analysis: Potential Conference Series for 2023 Season

Previous Betting News

So, we still have a week remaining in the NHL regular season, which means that there is time for things to change before we get to the official opening round matchups. There are a couple of things set in stone, such as the Boston Bruins going into the NHL playoffs with the #1 seed in the East and the best record in hockey. Outside of that, we could potentially see some matchups look different than what they are now. We will do a more thorough preview once the matchups are set, but we thought it might be fun to take a look at the matchups as they would be if the playoffs started today, so let’s take a look and try to predict those potential series.

Betting Predictions for the 2023 NHL Playoffs | NHL Lines

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Boston Bruins Vs Pittsburgh Penguins

The Bruins have been nothing short of brilliant all season long and have won all 3 meetings with the Penguins this season. All games were decided by a single goal, though, so I think the Pens might nab a home game but still go out in 5.

Toronto Maple Leafs Vs Tampa Bay Lightning

These two will meet once more before the end of the season. Right now, they have a 1-1 split in the regular season series, with the home team winning each time. This would probably be a long series.

Carolina Hurricanes Vs New York Islanders

The Islanders won the first meeting against the Hurricanes this season, but lost the next 3 meetings, and not in close fashion. Realistically, this would be a matchup the Canes might well like, winning the series in 5 or 6.

New Jersey Devils Vs New York Rangers

The Devils have taken 3 of 4 from the Rangers this season, but most of the games have been close. This is another series that might well take 6 or 7 games to decide, but I might give the Devils the edge.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Vegas Golden Knights at Winnipeg Jets

This one seems like a bit of a mismatch given that the Golden Knights have beaten the Jets in all 3 games this season. Things can be different in the playoffs, but I still think Vegas would get it done in 5, maybe 6 games.

LA Kings Vs Edmonton Oilers

A very good Pacific Division matchup potentially coming here, with the Kings holding a slight 2-1 edge in the regular season series. This is one that would probably go deep and might well even be a 7-game affair.

Minnesota Wild Vs Seattle Kraken

Just getting in would probably be seen as a win for the Seattle Kraken in just their second season, but could they make some noise? They would have a tough time against Minnesota, who have taken 2 of 3 from the Kraken this season. Wild in 6.

Colorado Avalanche Vs Dallas Stars

This regular season series delivered a ton of goals, but it was ultimately the Avalanche who won 3 of 4 against the Stars. The Avs have the potential to make a very deep run this season, and I think they would get rolling by winning this series in 5 or 6.
