With this being the first season in the NFL with an extra game for every team, it was always going to be interesting to see how things played out. As we head into Week 18 with playoff spots still waiting to be filled, you have to say that the extra week has been a success. Each conference has just 1 spot open, and while things are down to 2 teams in the NFC, there are 4 with a shot in the AFC. Two of those teams, the Raiders and Chargers, are going head-to-head in their final regular season game, and with it coming in primetime, it might just become must watch TV. This is our final week of regular-season NFL Betting picks, so let’s see if we can finish with a win.
Week 18 SU Picks for the 2021 Season | NFL Betting
Dallas Cowboys over Philadelphia Eagles
Both of these teams have already punched their playoff ticket, with the Cowboys also winning the NFC East in the process. Both, though, could still potentially move up in the seedings and perhaps get themselves an easier matchup, if such a thing exists, in the opening round. With that in mind, we can probably expect both teams to come out looking for the win on Saturday night. The Cowboys will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Arizona last weekend, as losing 2 in a row heading into the playoffs is not the ideal scenario. They are going to have a tough time with Philadelphia, as they come into this one on a hot 4-game winning streak. Dallas has had the best of this matchup, winning 6 of the last 8, which is why I am taking them in this one.
Minnesota Vikings over Chicago Bears
It has been a disappointing season for both of these teams, as neither of them will be in the playoffs this year. The Bears missing out is perhaps not a huge surprise, but we certainly expected more from the Minnesota Vikings. They have had to deal with COVID issues over the last couple of weeks, which may help explain why they have lost each of their last 2 games, but the good news is that they may have Kirk Cousins back in the lineup, assuming he comes back with a negative test. The Bears may be out of it, but they are finishing strong, coming away with wins in each of their last 2 games. While the Bears have had the better of the recent meetings against the Vikings, they are also just 6-13 SU in their last 19 visits to Minnesota.
New England Patriots over Miami Dolphins
While a bunch of teams have already booked their ticket into the postseason, not all of them can relax and take their foot off the gas. That is very much the case with the New England Patriots, as they still have a shot at winning the AFC East. They need to win this game and hope that the Buffalo Bills lose, so you can bet that they are going to be coming out with all guns blazing. The Dolphins saw their playoff hopes die last weekend with a loss to Tennessee that ended a 7-game winning run. It is going to be interesting to see how they respond after such a disappointing end to what was a thrilling run. The Patriots have won 6 of their last 7 on the road, so let’s take them again here.
