NFL 2023 Team-By-Team Analysis: New England Patriots Home & Away

The division schedule is brutal. For sure, the New England Patriots will have an edge at home when they play against the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins. The edge won’t be significant, though.

The problem the Pats will have against their AFC East Division rivals is that all three opponents send better quarterbacks to the field than New England. Bill Belichick doesn’t even know if he’s going to start Mac Jones or Billy Zappe.

Tua Tagovailoa in Miami, Buffalo’s Josh Allen, and future hall of fame and now Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers are better than Jones or Zappe. With that being written, the Patriots should win at least 1 game versus their division foes at home.

The Chargers, Chiefs, and Eagles aren’t lock home wins. The Patriots will probably go 1-of-3 against those teams. The Saints, Colts, and Commanders should be victories, but it won’t be easy. All three teams will have improved from last season but it’s tough to write any of the three upset the Pats on the road.

If we give the Patriots wins against New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Washington, the home record is a game above .500.

Predicted Home Win/Loss Record: 5-4 | NFL Regular Season Wins

Patriots Away Games
Dallas Cowboys
Denver Broncos
Las Vegas Raiders
Miami Dolphins
New York Giants
New York Jets
Buffalo Bills
Pittsburgh Steelers

The way the New England Patriots’ schedule is this season suggests New England has a better chance of winning more away games than home games.

The Patriots should struggle against the Dallas Cowboys away. Like last season, the Boys will be one of the NFL’s top teams.

The Denver Broncos will be much better with Sean Payton roaming the sidelines. That game feels like a New England loss.

The Raiders will be better because Jimmy Garoppolo is their starting quarterback. The Giants will be better because it will be Brian Daboll’s second season as head coach. Still, victories over the Giants and Raiders seem more probable than possible.

If New England goes 1-2 versus the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills on the road, that’s three away wins. A fourth away win could come at the expense of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh is a solid team. However, Kenny Pickett will be playing in his second season. So we must expect Bill Belichick to come up with a game plan to fluster Pickett into a few bad throws.

New England Patriots Final Predicted Record: 9-8
