NFL Indianapolis Colts Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis

NFL Indianapolis Colts Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis

It was a strange and disappointing season for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. The Matt Ryan experiment was an abject failure, as was the tenure of first-time head coach (at any level) Jeff Saturday.

All-Pro Jonathan Taylor was a non-factor, and the only excitement for the Colts came when they were part of an all-time historic NFL comeback. But Indianapolis was the part you don’t want to be, blowing a 33-0 halftime lead.

But in the NFL turnarounds can happen in the blink of an eye, and there is every reason to feel optimistic heading into 2023, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Check out an in-depth NFL betting odds and analysis for the Indianapolis Colts’ offense during the upcoming 2023 season.

Offensive Rookie of the Year Award

Bijan Robinson (+250)
Bryce Young (+500)
Anthony Richardson (+600)
C.J. Stroud (+750)

Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson is the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. But the first round of the NFL Draft was dominated by the three quarterbacks that were taken in the first four picks, and all of them are top candidates to also possibly win the award.

The most physically gifted of the three, and perhaps the most physically gifted rookie quarterback ever, is new Colts signal caller Anthony Richardson. He’s incredibly raw, having made just 13 starts in college. But at 21, the sky’s the limit, both with his physical talents, and the tutelage he will get from new head coach Shane Steichen.

Anthony Richardson Stat Props

It’s possible Richardson won’t begin the season as QB1, which would cut into his numbers. But even if that is the case, we won’t wait long to see him on the field.

Most Regular Season Rookie Passing Yards

Bryce Young (-120)
C.J. Stroud (+105)
Anthony Richardson (+2000)
Will Levis (+4000)

Bookmakers think this will be a two-way race between the top two picks, Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud. Hurting Richardson in the passing yards department will be his large total of rushing yards. That is reflected in his over/under for the season in passing yards, which sits at 2600.5.

Most Regular Season Quarterback Rushing Yards

Justin Fields (+170)
Lamar Jackson (+250)
Jalen Hurts (+400)
Anthony Richardson (+500)

Justin Fields and Lamar Jackson are the kings of quarterback rushing yards, but former Steichen pupil Jalen Hurts is also in the mix for the season’s highest rushing total for quarterbacks, as is Richardson.

Most Rushing Yards (all positions) in 2023

Nick Chubb (+300)
Derrick Henry (+400)
Jonathan Taylor (+600)
Josh Jacobs (+1400)

Jonathan Taylor is just a year removed from winning the NFL’s rushing title with 1,811 yards and 5.5 yards per carry.

Last year injuries cost him six games, 950 yards, and a full yard per carry. He was also hampered by an offense that was one of the worst in the league, even when he was on the field.

His over/under on rushing yards for 2023 is 1150.5, which isn’t NFL rushing title worthy. But if the offense gets cooking and Richardson becomes a legitimate threat, Taylor could be in the mix with the rest of the big running back names.
