NFL Arizona Cardinals Odds: Top Betting Games to consider in Regular Season

NFL Arizona Cardinals Odds: Top Betting Games to consider in Regular Season

Oddsmakers expect a long season for the Arizona Cardinals as they are given an over-under season win total of just 4.5 and might not be favored in a single matchup. After a 4-13 season in 2022, the organization is starting over. Key defensive pieces from last season — J.J. Watt, Zach Allen, Byron Murphy — are gone, and a new coaching staff led by Jonathan Gannon and front office are in place. Much will depend on the return of quarterback Kyler Murray from a torn ACL.

We present to you the Arizona Cardinals top NFL games to bet in all Regular Season Week 1-17.

Murray injured his right knee against the New England Patriots on “Monday Night Football” in Week 14 of last season and continues to work his way back from reconstructive surgery Jan. 3 to repair the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in that knee. Murray said he is ramping up the work, doing some cutting on the knee now and “getting closer to football.” The former Heisman winner still doesn’t know when he will play, though. It almost certainly will not be Week 1.

“I wouldn’t want to go out there and hurt the team or hurt myself,” Murray said over the weekend. “The advice I’ve gotten from a lot of people around me is, obviously, to go when you are ready. Don’t feel pressured to come back because of this situation or that situation. I feel when that time comes, I’ll know.”

Relegated to the physically unable to perform list as camp got underway last week, Murray is unable to participate in practices. That doesn’t mean, however, that he isn’t getting reps in a new-look offense, albeit from a mental aspect. Murray doesn’t believe he’s fallen behind in learning the Cardinals’ new offense even though he missed all of OTAs, minicamp and the first week of training camp. Part of his adjustment to new offensive coordinator Drew Petzing’s scheme has been becoming more comfortable with a longer play call.

“It’s the only thing I can do,” Murray said. “Just try to get the mental reps, try to spit out the calls as much as possible and just do as many things as possible for when it’s actual real live bullets and I’m the one out there, because it is a new system. It is a lot more wordy than we’ve been accustomed to. It’s getting there though.”

Veteran Colt McCoy would be the Week 1 starter as things stand. In the battle of the team’s third quarterback on the roster and likely backup once the season starts, the early leader appears to be rookie Clayton Tune. Tune, selected in the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft, got many second-team reps last week. Tune is in a competition with David Blough, who started the final two games of last season for Arizona, and Jeff Driskel, signed this offseason.

The Cardinals expect to lean on the run more often this season. James Conner gained a healthy 4.3 yards a carry last season and figures to be better suited in the Petzing offense. “His combination of quickness and power and speed and vision, I’m excited to watch him behind this O-line,” Gannon said.

The big defensive question on the team was resolved over the weekend when Pro Bowl safety Budda Baker got his contract reworked to avoid a possible holdout. Baker, who in April requested a trade or a new deal that would make him the highest-paid safety in the NFL, received a $300,000 signing bonus and can earn up to $2.4 million in bonuses and incentives. He still is scheduled for free agency in 2025.

Arizona visits Washington in Week 1 with the Commanders as 6.5-point favorites. It will be the first time Washington opens its season against an NFC West team since 2002 and the first time the Commanders will play Arizona at home since 2017. The Commanders have a 48-20 record against the Cardinals at home all-time. Washington likely will be giving second-year QB Sam Howell his second career start under center.

The Cards’ home opener is Week 2 vs. the Giants and that’s potentially winnable. The last time the Cardinals saw Giants QB Daniel Jones they sacked him six times (and then-Giants backup McCoy twice). The Cards have also beaten the Giants in their last four meetings. Week 10 vs. Atlanta could be the lone time the Cardinals are favored all year.

There is one game that Arizona really can’t lose metaphorically speaking. That’s Week 11 in Houston. Since the Cardinals own both their own and the Texans’ top draft pick in 2024, however it ends up benefits new Arizona GM Monti Ossenfort.
