NFL San Francisco 49ers Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis

NFL San Francisco 49ers Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis

The San Francisco 49ers are projected to be one of the best teams in the National Football League again in 2023. Out of the NFC – the 49ers will be one of the teams to beat.

The 49ers a season ago went 13-4, winning in the wildcard game over Seattle, beating Dallas in the divisional round, but losing to the Eagles in the NFC title game. The 49ers had 7 Pro Bowlers, with 3 of them coming on the offensive side.

San Francisco used a rookie quarterback for a good chunk of the season, including a 7th rounder in the postseason. All that being said – critics are sold on the 49ers. Are they sold on the offense, though? That’s the question.

Check out an in-depth look at San Francisco’s offense this season as well as how their offense may affect NFL betting odds

49ers Quarterback Position

Gone are the days of Jimmy Garopollo. He will go down as a memory, bust season, but honestly, he is probably going to go underlooked. Brock Purdy came in and was great last season, but was it just a flash in the pan?

Purdy is trying to come back from rehab from injury to be ready for Week 1 – but the team knows not to hurry him. Is Trey Lance going to be the guy they draft? There are questions here – but Kyle Shanahan is the guy to figure it out.

Rest of the Offense Returns

The rest of the offensive pieces of the 49ers puzzle return for the 2023 season. This is a very talented offensive unit. Christian McCaffrey leads the running back room with Elijah Mitchell behind him. McCaffrey played in just 11 games a season ago and finished with 746 rushing yards. Even if he misses time this season, Mitchell should be a suitable backup.

The receivers have Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and they are going to give Jauan Jennings the first crack at the third WR spot. Samuel wants his health. He missed four games a season ago, which likely held him back from 1,000 yards. Most do not realize Aiyuk got to 1,000 yards a season ago. Those two are sneakily one of the top duo’s in the league.

George Kittle is one of the elite tight ends in all of the National Football League. Who’s going to stop him? His 11 touchdowns last season led the team.

Kyle Juszczyk is a secret weapon at the fullback spot. If the 49ers are to push the pile, you better believe #44 is getting the football.

San Franciso 49ers Bets to Consider

NFL Week 1 Odds: 49ers -3 at Steelers, 40.5

It’s never easy going on the road in the National Football League. It’s also never easy to go across the country for an early start in the National Football League.

Lastly, it’s REALLY not easy to start your season against a well-coached team – Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are that. San Francisco will be on upset watch early.

Odds to win Super Bowl: +940

Kyle Shanahan is going to have things figured out. It’s a 17-game season for a reason. The 49ers are the team to beat in the NFC West, and it would not surprise me if no team in the division beats them head-to-head this season. Now, can they get by the Eagles this year?

Will Dallas make a run? The 49ers are clearly one of the teams to beat out of the NFC. Knowing that- it then just takes one game. Not a bad bet here.

NFL Odds to Win the NFC: +380

As we mentioned above, there is just one team with better odds. That’s Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. As with every team in the league, though – an injury away, and San Francisco is the favorite. Not rooting for a Hurts injury, but that’s all it takes.

That then begs the question – again. Can Dallas or even Detroit, Seattle, New Orleans, or Minnesota make the jump to being elite?

San Francisco 49ers 2023 Regular Season Wins: 11.5

The regular season schedule is not terrible. The road game to start the season is not a whole lot of fun, but winning on the road is a bonus. Outside of divisional play, trips to Minnesota and Philadelphia loom on the schedule. So, they lose four road games? Okay, that’s still 13 wins.

Who beats them at home? Dallas? Possible, okay, 12 wins. Baltimore? Maybe. But then, will San Francisco really lose four road games? The 49ers went 8-1 at home a season ago.

Taking the over here.

Folks got to understand the San Francisco 49ers scored 450 points in 2022. That’s the fourth most in the NFC. Only Philadelphia, Dallas, and Detroit scored more. So the slander on the San Francisco offense is not warranted.
