The AFC North is bound to be another interesting division in 2023. The Cincinnati Bengals still remain one of the best teams in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens brought their signal caller back on a big contract and look ready to make a run at the top of the division.

Cleveland continues to stockpile young talent and build a team that can compete. Of course, the Pittsburgh Steelers still remain in the division and will be a tough team to knock down and keep on the ground.

The AFC North will be quite a battle again. With that, let’s take a look at the AFC North betting favorites, possible upsets, and surprises through out the NFL regular season:

Divisional Odds for 2023

The Cincinnati Bengals are the favorites to win the AFC North. Cincinnati is listed at +150. If someone was to pull a possible upset over Cincinnati, it would be the Baltimore Ravens, most likely.

The Ravens are listed at +220. Two big surprises to win the division would be the Cleveland Browns at +425 and Pittsburgh Steelers at +450.

AFC Winner Odds

The same could be said for the winner of the AFC. Cincinnati is third, at +550, behind the Chiefs at +330, and the Bills at +500. The Ravens are just behind the Bengals but at +1100. The Browns come in at +2200, and the Steelers are listed at +2500 to win the AFC.

Super Bowl Contenders?

When it comes to betting on teams from the AFC North to win the Super Bowl, the best odds are the Cincinnati Bengals. Currently, Joe Burrow, Jamaar Chase and company are listed at +980. Only Chiefs, Jets, Bills, and the 49ers have better odds.

Baltimore is not too far off, as they are listed at +1900, and just see the Cowboys and Jets between them and the Bengals. After that, we have a free fall. The Cleveland Browns fall to +3300, while the Pittsburgh Steelers are +4900.

As far as betting favorites, that’s what you consider the Cincinnati Bengals. Surprises would be the Browns or Steelers contending in January for a Super Bowl.

Surprises?

In the AFC North, are there ever really surprises? This division has always been one that has seen teams compete with each other week in and week out.

A few options for upsets during the season include Week 1, when the Bengals go to Cleveland to take on the Browns. Cincinnati will have to be sharp from the beginning because Cleveland will be ready at home for the upset. Teams that are not any good do not always realize they are no good until later in the season.

Week 16 sees the Bengals going to Pittsburgh. It depends what the Steelers’ playoff chances are to see what kind of upset alert the Bengals will be on – but keep in mind – in Week 17, the Bengals go to Kansas City. Don’t get caught looking ahead!

NFL Week 1 Games

San Francisco 49ers -3 at Pittsburgh Steelers
This gives the Steelers an opportunity to really show the league they are for real. The 49ers are one of the favorites out of the NFC.

The 49ers have to come to the East to take on the Steelers. While underdogs, this is a game Pittsburgh can win at home.

Houston Texans +9 at Baltimore Ravens
No game in the National Football League is free, but this is as close as you will find. Houston will be starting a new quarterback and searching for what works. Lamar Jackson needs to get off to a quick start, and this is their chance.

Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 at Cleveland Browns
As we discussed this game early. This should be a heck of a football game. Joe Burrow and the Bengals want to set the tone early in the division, but the Browns will have other plans. The Ohio battle is always a good one.
