The Kentucky Wildcats is one of the most prestigious and storied programs in all of college basketball, with more than eight NCAA championships, the best winning percentage of all-time and the most all-time wins. In addition, Kentucky was the first program to reach 1,000 wins in 1968 and the first to reach 2,000 wins in 2009.

With such a rich history, the Wildcats have fueled several heated rivalries along the way. The first and most storied rivalry is against the Louisville Cardinals, known as the “Battle of the Bluegrass.” SEC rivalries are fierce, the first being the Tennessee Volunteers – “Battle of the Border”, a fierce rivalry as both teams constantly compete for SEC titles. The second in-state rivalry is against the Vanderbilt Commodores dubbed the “Commodores Bowl”. A final mention is LSU Tigers, these battles have intensified in recent years due to the rise of both teams to prominence in the SEC.
