When, Where, and Who is Playing in Super Bowl LIX?
AFC Champion Kansas City is looking to score their third straight Super Bowl victory.
The Chiefs managed to beat top rival Buffalo in the AFC title game to secure another trip to the Lombardi Trophy matchup.
Led by three time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City is on the verge of making history.
Standing in their way are the Philadelphia Eagles, the hottest team in the league.
The Philly Birds ended the regular season winning 12-of-13 games.
During the playoffs, Philadelphia rocked opponents Green Bay, the L.A. Rams, and NFC East rival Washington.
Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and their mates head into the Super Bowl off their best performance of the year, a 55-23 beating of rookie star quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.
The Eagles and the Chiefs dueled in Super Bowl LVII in 2023 with the game going to Mahomes and the Chiefs in a 38-35 masterpiece.
Will history repeat itself on Sunday? Or will the Eagles prevail?
Check out odds on both teams and why we should consider backing the Chiefs and the Eagles.

Odds for Chiefs to Win and Why KC Takes Home a Third Straight Lombardi
Kansas City Chiefs Game Line: -1; -116
Super Bowl Favorite
The odds on the Kansas City Chiefs make them a slight favorite.
KC has won 2 straight Super Bowls by 3 points.
Not only did the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35 in 2023 but last year, KC took down Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers 25-22.
In both games, the Chiefs looked like losers until Magic Mahomes pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat.
Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid are like peanut butter and jelly.
They’re as copasetic of a head coach and quarterback as you’re going to find in the history of the NFL.
But the Chiefs are much more than Mahomes.
They’re even more than Patrick to Travis Kelce, arguably the greatest tight end to every play in the league.
This season, the KC Chiefs are rushing the ball with more authority because they’ve got a lightning and thunder duo of Kareem Hunt, the thunder, and Isaiah Pacheco, the lightning.
The defense is where KC excels.
Steve Spagnuolo has created one of the best overall defenses in the NFL.
Led by defensive end Chris Jones, the D is fantastic at stopping the rush.
It also has one of the top secondaries in the league and Spags creates strategies that force opposing offenses to change what they intend to to do.
Overall, the Chiefs are firing on all cylinders.
KC has been the best team from beginning to end this season and are a solid play to make NFL history.
Odds for the Eagles to Win and Why Philly Upsets the Chiefs
Philadelphia Eagles Game Line: +1; -105
Super Bowl Underdog
No team played as well as the Philadelphia Eagles to end the regular season.
The Eagles thrived on running the football with over 2,000 yards rusher Saquon Barkley and top running quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Philly’s offensive line was also adept at giving Hurts time to throw the ball to the best wide receiving duo in the league, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Although Dallas Goedert isn’t Travis Kelce, he’s close, which means Hurts also has an outlet in the bruising tight end.
Going back to the O-line, the team that created the tush push took it to another level this season under the direction of offensive coordinator and rumored future New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore.
Kellen’s play calling turned the Eagles offense into one of the best units the league has seen in a while.
Not only was Hurts and Barkley unstoppable on the ground, but the creative ways in which Moore kept defenses on their heels all season led to touchdown after touchdown.
Scoring 55 points against a Dan Quinn defense can’t be ignored.
But although the Philly offense gets the press, the real reason the Eagles are back in the Super Bowl is due to legendary defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
The former Denver Broncos’ head coach has built a defense that rivals the top units in the league.
Philly ranked second against the rush this season.
Led by superstar lineman Jalen Carter, the Philly D stopped rushing teams in their tracks.
After losing 2 of their first 4 games, the defense gelled and Fangio’s group rolled against teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and L.A. Rams, four fantastic rushing offenses.
Fangio’s D also became one of the top units to shutdown passing attacks.
The secondary, safeties Reed Blankenship and C.J. Gardner-Johnson and corners Darius Slay Jr. and rookie Quinyon Mitchell, can play man-to-man on almost any combination of receivers.
Joe Burrow threw for just 234 yards, Lamar Jackson was good for just 237, and Matthew Stafford threw for 243.
Fangio’s D rocked it this season.
All in all, the Eagles are poised to provide the upset versus the Chiefs in Super Bowl 59.
MyBookie Betting Pick for the Super Bowl: Jalen and Saquon Keep Mahomes from Making History
When odds landed, I though the Kansas City Chiefs were going to make history by being the first team to win three straight Super Bowls.
But after studying both teams and thinking about what transpired during the regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles have become my pick to win Super Bowl 59.
Philly is one of the most complete teams we’ve seen in a long time.
Star power aside, the Philadelphia defense made a single blunder in the last 15 games, allowing Jayden Daniels to go off in a Commanders’ come from behind victory during the regular season.
The Eagles more than got their revenge in the NFC Championship, playing their best game of the season.
Philly is peaking at the right time.
Not only that, but coordinators Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio are strategizing at a top level.
The issue the Chiefs are going to have is stopping both Hurts and Barkley from running wild.
Hurts is an RB1 A and would be the starting running back for any other team in the NFL if he was a pure RB save for the Baltimore Ravens, which boast future hall of famer Derrick Henry.
If the Chiefs expend energy stopping the run, Jalen will beat you with his arm but like what I wrote above, the real reason to like the Eagles is because of Fangio’s D. Philly’s coordinator has had two weeks to prepare for Patrick Mahomes, Kelce, and the KC offense.
Philadelphia won’t disappoint.
Back the Eagles moneyline at +104 to cash.
