Metaphysical from the Jeff Hiles barn and Elias Lopez trained Flamand will also get looks. Alex Lou is a last out maiden winner. Dallas Stewart thinks enough of her to enter into a graded race in the first against winners. Take that into account when handicapping the Dogwood.

Only three have committed to the Grade 3 Noble Damsel. Among the three, Christophe Clement trained Malavath is the likeliest winner. Malavath should bounce back from the sixth place finish in the Grade 3 Eatontown.

Chad Brown trained Fluffy Socks always puts forth a good effort. But Fluffy is a tad below Brown’s other turf runners. Chad also plans on entering Veronica Green, the fourth-place finisher in the Violet Stakes.

Others projected to attract action include Aldana Spieth trained and Scott Spieth mount Dreaming of Kona, Robert Reid runner Dreaming of Maddie, which Paco Lopez will ride, Damon’s Mound, Freedom Road, and Praetorian Guard.

Doug O’Neil has a contender in Grade 3 Torrey Pines winner Ceiling Crusher but the chalk will be Grade 1 Test and Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks winner Pretty Mischievous. The Into Mischief sired miss will be searching for her fourth grade 1 victory when she breaks from the gate on Saturday.

Todd Pletcher will saddle a couple, Crupi and Dreamlike. Saffie Joseph Jr has a runner in West Coast Cowboy and Scotland goes for Bill Mott. If horseplayers are looking for a home run longshot, consider 50-to-1 on the morning line Modern Era, which finished tenth in a maiden event but is bred to be something special.
