NFL Week 8 Divisional Matchup in the AFC West: Chiefs at Raiders Odds and Betting Prediction

We are now at the halfway point of the new NFL season, and it is quickly becoming clear that some teams are not up for the challenge.

There are several coaches now sitting on the hot seat, with every result from this point forward contributing to the temperature of those seats.

My NFL Betting Analysis in the Week 8

On the flipside, there are a small selection of teams who are very much looking the part, although only 1 team is still unbeaten at this point.

That would be the Kansas City Chiefs, who strengthened their team with a midweek trade that we will talk about further in a moment.

This weekend, the Chiefs will be hitting the road to face the Las Vegas Raiders, one of the teams that looks well off it.

No real surprise here that the Chiefs are in as a 9 ½ point favorite for this game, with the total set at 41 ½.

Kansas City Chiefs Odds -526

Like we said at the top of this piece, the Kansas City Chiefs come into this weekend as the last unbeaten team in the league, going 6-0 through their first 6 games.

Despite going unbeaten, there are still some concerns about their play, as they have had to grind out wins in some of those games.

They seem to have recognized that, as they strengthened their offense by picking up DeAndre Hopkins this week, although whether he starts remains to be seen.

As well as winning games, which includes a 7-game win streak away from home, the Chiefs have also been a great bet against the spread, going 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 overall.

They have won 6 of their last 7 versus the Raiders and are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 versus this team.

In their last 8 games versus teams from the AFC West, the UNDER has hit 7 times.

Las Vegas Raiders Odds +370

There are already signs that the Raider have given up on this season and might be looking ahead, most notably in that they traded away Davante Adams a couple of weeks back.

They are now 2-6 this season and come into this game on a 3-game losing skid.

The biggest issue for this team is under center, so you now have to wonder if they will be willing to tank the remainder of the season in hopes of getting a high draft pick that could potentially get them one of the elite QBs coming out of college football this season.

Might they want Carson Beck from UGA to hook up with Brock Bowers, who is on pace to be Rookie of the Year? Home field advantage does not seem to matter here, with the Raiders losing 6 in a row at home to the Chiefs.

The Raiders are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 8, while the OVER has hit in 4 of their last 5 home games.

Chiefs at Raiders Betting Prediction in NFL Week 8

Given the current form of both teams, it seems like an absolute slam dunk for the Chiefs here. The bigger questions appear to be the spread.

I think we will see the Chiefs cover and the total go OVER.

Kansas City Chiefs 33, Las Vegas Raiders 10
