FIFA didn’t plan it this way, but Morocco against Portugal is one of this World Cup’s most intriguing matchups. The key to finding the winner is to discern whether or not Portugal’s offensive output versus Switzerland was an anomaly.

Nobody believed Portugal could score more than 3 versus the Swiss. They doubled the expected total. And the Portuguese did it versus a talented Switzerland side.

Ah, but although Portugal scored goals against Switzerland, we shouldn’t blindly back them against Morocco. The thing is, Switzerland won possession 52% to 48%.
