The Giants got the help they needed with losses by NFC chasers Detroit and Seattle, but didn’t seal the deal with the win to complete the equation of securing.
Joseph’s franchise-record 61-yard field goal as time expired gave the Vikings the 27-24 victory Saturday, prevented the New York Giants from clinching a playoff berth and set an NFL record with Minnesota’s 11th win by a touchdown of the season.
